And Life Goes On…

Cold but true. Life goes on while we wait.

No matter what perspective you looking from, we are Extremely Blessed and the process is going Extremely Well! Yes, there have been a few minor details to be corrected with some documents but nothing that couldn’t be fixed with an overnight envelope. Our last set of fingerprints are done and the man at the Hague Adoption Unit of the USCIS said he is ready to approve our application! Yahoo!! Once we get that approval paperwork from him we will get it to Latvia. Then…it’s only a short time…

Tick…Tick…Tick…

With each tick of the clock and each day that passes we are another step closer to bringing Aleks home. Thank you to each of you who continue to pray and encourage us. I cannot help but give a shout out to those of you who have also given financially…THANK YOU. We are making progress, but we still have quite a way to go.

The Sound of Silence….

Okay, it’s now going on three days since our dossier and gifts for Aleks should have been delivered…and we have heard nothing. Once again I find myself asking “God, is this how You really feel?” It’s a bit crazy but I find myself checking three different e-mails just to see if there is a confirmation that it actually arrived. With anticipation I look for a response and wonder, what did he think. Did he get his gifts? Did Daina get the dossier? I know in my heart that it all arrived safely and was distributed properly…but still the anticipation grows. I find myself checking my e-mail first thing in the morning when I awake, did he write me? When I wake during the night I look at the clock and calculate what time it is in Liepaja. I have tried to call, but no answer. School is out this week in Liepaja for Easter Break…yes, they call it Easter Break…not Spring Break. (Imagine that, a former communist country recognizes “religious” holidays once they are free) The weather is also nice this week in Liepaja and I am sure that the children from the orphanage are outside playing. Even still I look forward to and long to hear from Aleks…

Until then…I will wait…”Greater things are yet to come and greater things are still to be done” in this family. Thank You Father…
